    Jyotsna Suri- The leader who keeps giving back to the society

    It is extremely rare to find leaders who are determined to contribute to the society and share their success. In this aspect, Dr Jyotsna Suri is certainly a welcome exception.

    May 11: Jyotsna Suri is an extremely successful leader when it comes the hotel industry in India. She has earned a lot of success and has been conferred with various awards and recognition. Dr Suri is also the Past President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce in Industry (FICCI). In spite of achieving so much success and glory what is truly unique about Dr Jyotsna Suri is her commitment to give back to the society. She has constantly been a part of many social initiatives to help different sections of the society.

    Under her leadership, Lalit Hotels initiated Project Disha whose main purpose was to assist children and youth from the lower strata of the society to get access to quality education. The main aim of Project Disha was to empower these children by education and help them get employment. This project gave countless children and youth lessons in English, vocational training and many other life skills that will stand them in good ground when it comes to finding employment.

    Dr Suri is also committed to making the earth a greener and a more hospitable place. As climate change becomes more and more concerning, the Lalit Group under Dr Suri’s guidance has taken significant steps to do their part in making the Earth a more liveable space. The Group has also taken to use of technology thereby reducing the paper usage to bare minimum. All the employees and guests are reminded about the impact of deforestation and are encouraged to use digital modes of communication. Further as a part of their green initiatives, the Lalit Group has also planted approx. 1,50,000 trees in Bangalore, 10,000 trees in Khajuraho and 50,000 trees in Delhi.

    Dr Jyotsna Suri has also said that she is a firm believer in the principle of inclusivity. As a result, Dr Suri has left no stone unturned when it comes to bringing people of various abilities under the same umbrella. Under her leadership, The Lalit Group has already partnered with the Special Olympics that was held in Delhi this year, as their happiness partner and also provided meals to the participants. The Group under the guidance of Dr Suri has also tied up with Atypical Advantage and have hired pianist with autism spectrum disability and hearing and speech impaired disability at Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata hotels. It is Dr Suri’s firm belief that as someone in the hotel business, serving people especially those that have been neglected by the society is pivotal.

    Not just this, under her leadership, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group also encourages more women employment in executive and other leadership positions. Further The Lalit Group is pioneer in employing members from the LGBTQIA+ community and giving voice to people belonging to the community. They also provide an equal opportunity to people who suffer from various impairments. The hotel has also organized events such as “Make Love Not Scars” that provides help to those who have suffered from acid attacks.

    In this world, we need to see more entrepreneurs such as Dr Jyotsna Suri who value their position and provide equal focus to their social responsibilities.
