Mumbai, December 14: National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated every year on 14th December across the country to spread awareness about the importance of energy conservation. &TV artists Devi Parvati (Shivya Pathania) of Baal Shiv, Manish Agarwal (Vishal Nayak) of Ghar Ek Mandir- Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki, Zafar Ali Mirza (Pawan Singh) of Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai? Katori Amma (Himani Shivpuri) of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Angoori Bhabi (Shubhangi Atre) of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai talk about ways to conserve energy.

Shivya Pathania, as Devi Parvati from &TV’s Baal Shiv, says, “In today’s time, people are becoming more environment-conscious and looking to find ways to be more energy-efficient. The fact is that conserving energy is good for the environment and helps one save more money in the long run. The climatic changes and the issue of global warming are quite alarming due to the misuse of energy resources. But with the emergence of technology, there have been many discoveries to substitute non-renewable energy such as CFL lights, CNG fuel, wind energy, hydro energy, etc. So, shifting to smart energy usage will lead to a better environmentally friendly future.” Vishal Nayak, as Manish Agarwal from &TV’s Ghar Ek Mandir-Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki says, “Energy conservation is the need of the hour, and we must do our bit towards energy conservation. I turn off the lights and fans or any electric gadgets when not in use. Energy efficiency is something that everyone can partake. There are several ways to make your home energy efficient without having to spend too much money. For example, use Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs) instead of regular light bulbs, which last longer and consume less energy. Another way is to purchase and use energy-efficient appliances.” Pawan Singh as Zafar Ali Mirza from &TV’s Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai? shares, “We often neglect the fact that most of the energy that we consume like fossil fuels are non-renewable resources, and we end up misusing it. Being a responsible citizen, I try to avoid taking vehicles shorter distances and prefer walking. Adjusting your day to day behaviour towards energy consumption can be an important factor in becoming an environmentally conscious citizen.”

As Katori Amma from &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Himani Shivpuri comments, “Compassion is a way of life. Nature gives us so much, and we are exploiting it in return. I strongly believe that we should all make it a regular habit to do our bit to save energy. For instance, I do not unnecessarily overuse water. It has become an inbuilt behaviour in me that I turn it off wherever I see running water. Also, I use the car washing water to flush the toilet than using freshwater. Instead of regular light bulbs, I used LEDs, and I try to wash my clothes in cold water if possible.” Shubhangi Atre, as Angoori Bhabi from &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “I strongly support organic lifestyle, for which having natural energies is highly important. On this National Energy Conservation Day, I would request everyone take small steps towards shifting to an environmentally conscious lifestyle to save the planet and its energy resources for the future generation. I make sure that unnecessary usage of energy does not happen from my end irrespective of where I am.”
