Salem (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 29: Dhenesh Annamalai is a Salem-based aerial photographer whose works have amazed thousands of people from all over the world.

Imagine a moment of viewing the Earth’s surface, its terrestrial features, and the unseen beauty of our land from the sky. Aerial photography pens down such incredible pictures that we have never seen or imagined before. It captures the massive terrestrial land surfaces with flying objects like aircraft, balloons, spacecraft, Drones, etc.,

Dhenesh Annamalai, a civil engineer, and a passionate photographer brings out amazing aerial photographs of various places in Tamil Nadu. His aerial clicks have gone viral a few weeks back on Instagram that is shared and viewed by many nature and photography lovers. When we asked why he chose for aerial snaps, the twenty-three-year-old Salem guy says that he wanted to show the majestic and gorgeous lands that are enduring in our own state.

He says that he used to take snaps with film cameras during his family trips and functions, and his fondness for nature got him into photography. Till his college days, he used regular DSLRs, and later, he thought to take pictures that must be freakish. He followed and learned the concepts of many foreign photographers and came up with creating Aerial photographs. “Everyone admires the aerial pictures of the terrestrials as it represents the same location with a different perspective and angle”.

Dhenesh says that he had no investments or prior savings that would help him to follow his passion. Along with other friends, he started the buying and re-selling business of cameras and gadgets. He used those cameras and drones, learned from YouTube, and practiced his photography skill. The small savings from that venture help him with his travel expenses during his shoot days.

“In 2018, I started taking aerial clicks in my locality. I captured a location in Yercaud, which has lakes, forests, and roads. People in my surroundings admired by seeing the photograph and can’t believe that they were living in such a heavenly place all these years. That really encouraged me to capture more like that. I didn’t want to take up a very long journey and find the best place to shoot. All I planned was to show the majestic and glorious landscapes that already exist in Tamil Nadu. Every subject has its ideal value when it is seen in different angles”.

He says that seeing his works, many people approached him for weddings and party shoots while he stood adhered to in his passion rather than for money.

He captured many mesmerizing bird views of various places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The aerial pictures of Mahabalipuram, Dhanushkodi (the last road of India), Kanyakumari beach, Yercaud hills, and lakes went viral. Recently his photos of Mahabalipuram and Yercaud were recognized by Nat Geo India and shared on their official page.

According to Dhenesh, there are no fixed rules to say what a good picture is. He says he gets satisfied with his own pictures and never minds about laws and theories. Recently the aerial-holic man got recognized by many film directors. From such aerial photographs, one could give up their fear of heights and learn to enjoy the earth’s heavenly radiance.
