Surat, Gujarat : Introducing ‘Bada Baksa’, to cater to the foodie culture of Surat, where people generally enjoy eating readymade food on the footpath, garden, picnic, or while travelling. Bada Baksa is fast becoming a favourite box for people of Surat, as they can relish eating readymade food at their convenience. Bada Baksa is a combination of 4 course cooked meals which are packed in a big box and delivered to your doorstep.

This start-up is an idea of 2 youngsters from Navsari, Aakash and Shivam, who have studied Masters in Hospitality Management. They shared this idea with their friend Vishwa from Surat and the trio took this concept further. They thought it would be a big relief for large groups or families in Surat if they could get an option to have a packed box and a plate, spoon, water bottle,  and wet tissue for hand washing along with the meal. They named this option Bada baksa.

You can have fun eating from the bada baksa at home while watching a movie or a match on TV. The bada baksa has all the condiments in the box itself, so housewives don’t have to worry about washing the dishes and any other odd jobs. And yes, If everyone is gathered on the weekend, just count the number of bada baksa you need, order it and get ready to party.

When asked what is so special about a bada baksa Shivam Desai and Aakash Gandhi said that, ‘Our food is different from all the others. Secondly we have hired specialist chefs for each type of cuisine so that we can offer the best taste to our customers. Also the box is made from a special type of paper. And We use 90 % eco friendly packing materials. Plus this easy to carry box comes with containers which can be used in the microwave too. The bada baksa offers varieties of food covering 7 to 8 different options including Punjabi, Punjabi-Chinese, Chinese, and mixed box i.e. Italian and Mexican. So the best part is that our meal box meets the requirements of 4 persons in just Rs 999. So people can get *vary*the varieties of food items at very reasonable prices.’

The bada baksa will be the only solution to all the food enjoyment needs of the people of Surat. If the bada baksa is a success then these three youth brigades will give the gift of innovative food boxes in future like Surati Special, Munching Special and Starter Box.
