Ranchi emerged as the beating heart of Indian martial arts as the 23rd All India Inter School & Senior Karate Championship unfolded in spectacular fashion at the historic Tana Bhagat Stadium, rewriting the benchmarks of scale, excellence and sporting unity.

With over 1,500 competitors from 17 states, the championship evolved into a grand national conclave of karate — where raw talent, refined technique and unbreakable discipline converged in an atmosphere charged with energy, pride and purpose.

Across two thrilling days, the tatami became a battlefield of courage and character as young aspirants and elite champions contested fiercely in kata and kumite events across all age and weight divisions, offering spectators a masterclass in skill, speed and sportsmanship.

At the helm of this monumental event stood Hanshi Premjit Sen — legendary master, international referee, architect of champions and one of the foremost torchbearers of Indian karate. His visionary leadership and lifelong service to the sport transformed the championship into a landmark movement for the future of martial arts in India. Under his guidance, the championship reached unprecedented levels of professionalism, participation and prestige.

The championship was formally inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Seth, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, whose powerful message of discipline, resilience and national pride deeply resonated with athletes and officials alike.

The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Shri Jagdish Singh “Jaggu”, eminent sports administrator and social leader, whose continued support for youth and sports development has earned widespread admiration.

The event was strengthened by the leadership of its Guests of Honour:

        •    Shri K.K. Singh, President, Tennis Association of Jharkhand — the strategic visionary behind the championship’s execution

        •    Shri Manash Sinha, President, Sports Karate Association of Jharkhand

        •    Shri Hejaz Asdaque, General Secretary — whose tireless coordination ensured flawless operations from start to finish

Operating under strict international officiating protocols, the championship upheld the highest standards of fairness and safety, with certified referees, technical experts and medical teams maintaining excellence at every level.
