The programme will be held on 23rd December at LJ University, Sarkhej Campus

Ahmedabad, December 11: Over the years, women have evolved as strong, dynamic and multifarious leaders across the globe. A great nation is measured by the number of women working and contributing to its growth and economy. Rigorous and persistent endeavors towards women empowerment in social, educational, economic, political and psychological fronts should be the top priority across every stratum of society.

For our country to prosper and become an Atmanirbhar Bharat, we need to ensure and enable women-led economic development. India has over 50,000 Startups recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) with at least 45 percent of them having women entrepreneurs, according to data issued by the department on June 3, 2021″. Working in this very direction, FLO Startup Cell- Ahmedabad, FICCI Ladies Organization & Antrapreneur Business Incubator, a unit of LJ Knowledge Foundation, are creating history by launching a Training Centre to enable Skilling and Development Programs exclusively to promote Women Entrepreneurship in Gujarat.

The event will see an idea, early or scale-up stage Women Entrepreneurs/ Start-ups pitch to women investors for funding their venture. It is exclusively for Women Founders/Cofounders. The event will also have DEMO DAY 2021, an indoor event for all types of Women Startups /Ventures to display and explain their prototype, proof of concept, or market-ready product/service offering to the audience. It will also have Business Mentoring sessions for addressing any operational challenges as business owners concerning various functions of running a business – from entrepreneurs, professionals & experts.

There will be three parallel Events- Women-led Founders/Cofounders will pitch to Women Funders; Demonstration of the product/service and Business Mentoring for Mentees. It will occur at L J University Sarkhej Campus from 9:30 am to 3 pm on 23rd December 2021.

‘India has about 10,000 angel investors, and only 1% of them are women. Less than 30% of the deals that get funded are women founded. FLO startup is an endeavour to create an ecosystem of women founders and funders. We are helping entrepreneurs and training women to be on the other side of the table as investors, said Dr. Aarti Gupta, National Head, FLO Startups.

Ms. Nandita Munshaw, Chairperson, FLO Ahmedabad Chapter, said that ‘I take pride in stating that “Women Investing in Women- The Startup Symposium” is going to be the first-ever all Women initiative along with the launching of Training Centre for skilling and development to promote women entrepreneurship in Gujarat. We are looking forward to creating history.’

On occasion, Ms Supriya Jindal, Chairperson, YFLO Ahmedabad, said that ‘Women are the backbone of a flourishing economic ecosystem. By supporting each other and investing in women-led Startups, we uplift each other.
